Pinched nerves

Pinched nerves

If you have pain, then nerves are involved, but they’re rarely “pinched”.

That term is sometimes thrown around overly casually.

There are two types of pinched nerves:

  1. Nerve Entrapment/Compression syndromes &
  2. Foraminal stenosisspine conditions pinched nerve

Foraminal stenosis is narrowing of the intervertebral foramen from disc bulges and herniations or degenerative changes to the bony structures around the nerve – in rare instances, it can also be caused by tumors, or infection.

If your condition is related to your spine we have a specific disc herniation and sciatica treatment program based on the best current evidence for assessing and treating this condition.

Nerve entrapment and compression syndromes can often be effectively treated with manual therapy to restore the necessary sliding and gliding properties of the nerve where joint or soft tissue immobility is causing the entrapment.
